Safe, Active & Enjoyable Afterschool Childcare
A school-based childcare programme where children can relax, socialise, complete homework, get creative and stay active after their school day.
A balanced afternoon after a busy school day
Children spend much of their school day following a timetable. Active Afterschool gives them the right balance of structure and freedom — a place to relax, socialise, complete homework, be creative and stay active.
Homework & Quiet Time
A calm period for homework, reading and quieter activities after the school day.
Arts, Crafts & Games
Creative projects, games and free-choice activities that help children enjoy and unwind during the afternoon.
Active Fitnastix
Movement games, obstacle courses, coordination activities, outdoor play and age-appropriate gymnastics activities.
Childcare within the school environment
Where possible, Active Afterschool operates directly within participating primary schools.
This allows children to remain in a familiar environment after their school day rather than travelling to another childcare location.
- Convenient for parents
- Familiar surroundings for children
- Access to school facilities where agreed
- Indoor and outdoor activity options
- Staggered collection throughout the afternoon
What a typical afternoon could look like
The programme provides structure without becoming another rigid school timetable.
Activities are adapted according to children’s ages, interests, weather and the facilities available at each school.
Our aim is simple: safe, active, organised and enjoyable.
Experienced in school-based children’s programmes
Our experience working with children dates back to 2010, including the operation of Olympus Dance and Music Academy. Today, through Fitnastix-Ireland, we manage programmes across approximately 14 schools in North Kildare and County Dublin.
Experienced with Children
Extensive experience supervising groups, managing staff, organising activities and communicating with families.
School-Based Experience
Years of experience working directly with primary schools, principals and school communities.
Active by Design
Movement and physical activity are naturally built into the afternoon without turning childcare into a formal sports class.
Balanced Programme
Homework, creativity, social interaction, free play and movement all have a place in the afternoon.
Holiday & mid-term childcare
At participating locations, we also intend to develop full-day childcare programmes during school holidays.
This may include October and February mid-term, Easter and summer holidays.
Holiday programmes combine creative activities, games, outdoor play and active Fitnastix sessions.
Bring Active Afterschool to your school
Fitnastix-Ireland works with primary schools interested in providing on-site School Age Childcare for their families.
We manage the childcare operation, staffing, parent communication, administration and activities while working closely with school management.
